What Is vCard?
vCard (.vcf) is an open format for electronic
business cards, maintained as RFC 6350. Email clients, CRM systems, and smartphones have
supported it for decades. When encoded inside a QR code, the entire card travels as plain
text starting with BEGIN:VCARD. After scanning, the user taps “Add contact” and all fields populate automatically — far
more reliable than OCR on a printed card.

Design Tips for Business Cards
Place the QR in a corner with at least 4 mm quiet zone (empty margin) around it. Avoid glossy lamination directly over the code — matte finishes reflect less glare under event lighting. Keep module color dark on a light background; inverted light-on-dark codes often fail on older scanners. Test at the final printed size before a large print run.
